About Us
A Care Philosophy Rooted in Human Dignity, for Over 25 Years
GAYA Özel Bakım ve Yaşam Üniteleri was founded to offer families professional care — at a level they couldn't provide at home given rising life expectancy and chronic illness — without ever compromising the traditional principle of "respect for our elders." Today, we carry the same care philosophy across our 5 branches in Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Izmit and Germany.

Our Founding Story
Why Does GAYA Exist?
As in the rest of the world, life expectancy is rising and the number of chronic illnesses is increasing in our country too. Meanwhile, busy work and city life make it harder every day to care for our elders at home. Entrusting them to a single caregiver can often mean, without meaning to, leaving our loved ones in loneliness.
Our traditional family bonds and the value we place on caring for our elders as a duty are precious emotional reasons — but they can sometimes, unintentionally, fall short of benefiting their physical and mental health enough. GAYA was born exactly out of this need: founded to provide the professional care that a growing number of chronic conditions requires, with uninterrupted 24/7 supervision, while upholding human dignity at the highest level.
Our Mission
Beyond the Concept of a Nursing Home
At GAYA, our goal is to go beyond the classic perception of a "nursing home" and build a new approach to elderly care in Turkey. We're structured to respond not only to the physical needs of geriatric individuals, but to their legal and social needs too. Under the leadership of our academically grounded management, we keep expanding our staff by embracing the importance of expert nurses in chronic care services.
Today we serve individuals with various conditions such as old age, Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's and stroke, who need round-the-clock care and supervision. Aware of our responsibility, we work without ever compromising on professionalism, while staying firmly committed to the traditional principle of "respect for our elders."
Professional Care
With our expert staff of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians and social workers, we offer a care philosophy that always puts human dignity first.
Legal Support
For legal questions and processes families may encounter during this journey, we guide them through our staff's legal advisor.
Social Support
With our social workers, we provide social and psychological support so our residents and their families are never alone in this process.
Spatial Concept
A Meaning on Every Floor of Life
Gaya takes its name from nature itself — representing the cycle, renewal and continuity of life. Our building has four floors, and each floor represents a stage of life: as you go up, the colors soften, the light grows, and the space turns into a feeling of "completeness". The green tones present on every floor symbolize the continuity of life and the connection to nature.

Ground Floor
Roots and Welcome
"Colors meet here; life blossoms anew."
Gaya's heart is on the ground floor. This is where the first contact between the individual and the space takes place — a sense of trust, belonging and warmth is created here. The ground floor is also where the natural balance of the interior is reflected onto the façade — natural stone, green accents and indoor-outdoor continuity carry the feeling of nature into the space. The garden is an extension of the ground floor; the green tones inside turn into rainbow-like colors outdoors.

1st Floor
Living Together and Sharing
"The color of laughing, remembering and sharing together."
This floor is designed as the space where the sense of community is felt most intensely. Shared lounge areas, small socializing nooks and triple rooms are arranged with this in mind. The material language is supported with warm wood surfaces, and lighting is in a soft, daylight tone that supports the energy of the space. Using different colors together in the seating areas sends the message that individual differences can coexist within a wholeness.

2nd Floor
Peace and Balance
"Time slows here, silence speaks."
The middle floor represents the calm, balanced period of life. Here colors cool, sounds soften, light becomes airier. Wall colors in the rooms are built with soft tonal transitions, supported by blue-green textiles. The shared lounge areas on this floor are designed around individual quiet and focus; reading nooks, planted alcoves and large windows strengthen the connection with nature.

3rd Floor
Memories and Light
"Life meets the light here, love stays green."
This floor represents the stage of maturity and remembrance in life. Here colors are lighter, light is more abundant; Gaya's face "at peace with its memories" appears on this floor. This floor holds 2 single, 3 double and 3 triple rooms; brightness, airiness and visual calm take center stage. In the bathrooms, white ceramic surfaces are paired with green tile details, underlining the relationship between nature and cleanliness.

4th Floor
Legacy and Horizon
"The light of wisdom spreads to the horizon."
The top floor of the building represents the point of wisdom that life arrives at, and the legacy of that wisdom passed on to younger generations. Wide terraces and panoramic views remind residents of the bigger picture of life on the floor where the gaze opens to the horizon. In the memory corner, residents share their past identities (teacher, doctor, artist, engineer, parent...), passing their experience on to younger generations — this is the topmost, brightest color of Gaya's rainbow.
